Sun Run (Over 16's) 6-8 July 2012	Coolest Midsummer Weekend of the Year. Friday night is party night. Throughout Saturday, you can enjoy Live Bands, Street Entertainers, Theatre Groups, Craft stalls, Sport Competitions (Football, Volleyball, Tug-of-War) Gladiator Games, Climbing wall, Fairground Rides, Euro Bungee. And then, the Sun-Run itself.
Malvern Challenge (Under 16's) 29 June - 1 July 2012	Huge event: 3000 scouts/explorers aged under 16. Includes:- challenge with teams competing at activity bases spread around surrounding hills; fayre with activities ranging from gladiator games to craft stalls; big-crowd night-time entertainments (live artists, talent shows, comedians, disco etc).

Night hike 3 March 2012	Compete against teams of Explorer Scouts from all over Solihull to show how efficiently you can navigage your way around a challenging course in the dark, hopefully making it back before dawn!
Conservation Weekend 24-26 February 2012	This year we will be doing our hack and burn in the Sherwood Forestry District, and staying at the recently refurbished Sherwood Lodge in Walesby Forest (see www.walesbyforest.org.uk ). On the sunday we've got three activities booked - Fencing (i.e. 'sword fighting'), Jacobs ladder (scary high-in-air team challenge)and crazy golf. As is traditional, the weekend will feature our unique style of evening entertainments!

Mountaineering weekend 4-6 November 2011	Fantastic opportunity to do some real mountaineering in the rugged mountains of North Wales. Staying indoors in a hostel right amongst mountains. Rafting/Canoeing + BBQ/fire Sat 1 October 2011	Saturday afternoon + evening at Pikes Pool: 12 people raft building, 12 people Kayacking. You can cook themselves a BBQ afterwards, and have a camp-fire in the evening, before coming home to bed!

We'll stay in the Mountbatten Lodge at Ferny Crofts Scouting Centre - with bunk rooms, and a large hall in which we will enjoy our famous party style entertainment.

Caving 5-7 November 2010	A weekend including two full-on caving trips in Yorkshire, the largest caving area in the country. This will be a real underground adventure – climbing, crawling, splashing (and sometimes even walking) underneath the lime-stone hills to explore the hidden world of a karst landscape.

And of course we'll have camp fires, wide-games and all the usual other fun while we're there!

World Scout Jamboree 27 July – 8 August 2007	The Centennial World Scout Jamboree will be held in the UK in 2007 (Chelmsford). The Jamboree will involve up to 40,000 Scouts aged 14 to 18 from around the world camping and 15,000 visitors a day. The Jamboree is larger than the Olympic Games with more people taking part from more countries, for longer.

Barfly - Rock gig Wed 20 September 2006	Three fantastic rock bands play at the Barfly in Digbeth, with our friends the OCD on at 8pm. Age 14+
Rock climbing weekend 8-10 September 2006	Rock Climbing weekend at the Scout Mountaineering Centre in North Wales. The Hafod hostel, with bunk-rooms, common rooms, etc, is right amongst the rugged mountains of Snowdonia, with crags to climb on it's door-step. As well as the activity itself, these are good, sociable weekends.
Summer Camp 2006 25/27 Aug - 2nd Sept 2006	Summer Camp will be in Wales, near the Gower Peninsular where we’ll spend three afternoons surfing, and time on the beach. We’ll also go to Oakwood Theme Park (where there’s a wicked wooden roller-coaster), and do other activities such as climbing, abseiling, archery, air rifle shooting, orienteering, and the muddiest obstacle course this side of the known Universe. 1st response course Saturday 22 April 2006	Course will be run specially for Explorers. A must for anyone doing DofE expedition. Goff's 1-day 1st aid courses are excellent - he's a retired police-man with decades of experience, who delivers knowledge at maximum speed, without any time-wasting messing about, and in one session covers the Scout's "First Response" Syllabus plus everything else it's sensible to know as a scouter.

Will camp with other Explorers from the District.
Conservation weekend 24-26 February 2006	This year's indoor accomodation will be a lodge at Ferny Crofts Scout Centre, meaning as well as attacking the local rhododendron colony and making a BIG fire, we'll have access to e.g. high ropes course etc. All the usual ingredients & more for what has become a hugely popular annual event. Sun Run 8-10 July 2005	Join thousands of others at the Coolest Midsummer Weekend of the Year. Friday night is party night. Throughout Saturday, you can enjoy Live Bands, Street Entertainers, Theatre Groups, Craft stalls, Sport Competitions (Football, Volleyball, Tug-of-War) Gladiator Games, Climbing wall, Fairground Rides, Euro Bungee. And then, the Sun-Run itself.

Conservation weekend 4-6 Feb 2005	Come and help in the New Forest hacking down the invading rhododendron bushes! Sociable weekend in unusually posh hostel.

Mountaineering Weekend 5-7 November 2004	Fantastic opportunity to do some real mountaineering in the 'proper' mountains of North Wales. Staying at Scout owned Mountaineering Centre right amongst mountains. You will be instructed by the Scout instructors from the Centre in hill-walking and mountain techniques.

Summer Camp pre-weekend 23-29 August 2004	Young Leaders / Explorers (over 16 years old only). Pre-summer-camp ultra-chilled weekend. Not all the beer got drunk at last years' summer camp, and had to be taken home. Hence this year the explorers/young leaders are invited to come two days' early to make sure that this gets done, and lots of fire wood gets burnt. Oh yeh, and the tents get pitched (we should just be able to squeeze this into a whole weekend). And maybe we find the best beach or fun-fair for the scouts.
